On Friday February 5th, Eben Moglen will give a talk about Privacy and the Cloud at a meeting of the Internet Society, New York chapter. The event will take place from 7:00-9:00pm in room 109 of NYU’s Warren Weaver Hall, located on the South East corner of West 4th Street and Mercer Street.

The European OpenSource & Free Software Law Event (EOLE) is an event that aims to promote the sharing and dissemination of legal knowledge on Free & Open Source Software (FOSS) licences, as well as the development and promotion of good practices in the field. Karen Sandler will close the morning session with a discussion of current legal issues in the United States.

Organized by the Practising Law Institute (PLI), the session entitled “Critical Issues and the Future of Open Source and Free Software” will be given by Karen Sandler and Mark Webbink. It is an approved transitional program for purposes of CLE requirements.

Bradley M. Kuhn will participate in and moderate a panel discussion on Cloud Computing, Software as a Service, and the software freedom community response to both. The panel will also include Benjamin ‘Mako’ Hill, Evan Prodromou, Nathan Yergler, and Tim O’Reilly.

The panel discussion will take place at the 2009 Open Source Software Convention (OSCON).
