Technology
In addition to its mission to provide pro bono legal services to Free and Open Source Software projects, the Software Freedom Law Center has a secondary goal: to produce useful technology that allows non-profit organizations and law centers to operate in software freedom.
Thanks to modern GNU/Linux systems, most of the technology exists to run non-profits and law offices without resorting to proprietary technology. However, improvements are always possible. Most notably, integration of existing Free Software systems can produce useful results to streamline organizations' technological infrastructure.
Our FOSS Community Liaison and Technology Director, Bradley M. Kuhn, leads our efforts to specify, develop, integrate, implement and deploy new Free Software technology for SFLC. In the spirit of our community, we develop that technology openly with a “constant release” paradigm. Bradley M. Kuhn keeps a technology blog that discusses the technological work that SFLC does. In addition, we have a separate site, code.softwarefreedom.org, where various software components that we've developed and improved are released.
